Demetrius Williams (4)

Williams was an absolute steal in the fourth round as he was projected to go in the second.  At Oregon the last three years Williams has been very productive and dependable.  In the last three years, Williams has played in 34 games (33 starts) and caught 157 passes for 2,587 yards and 20 touchdowns.  Williams toughness going over the middle has been questioned by scouts, but not his work ethic as he is a very hard worker.  Williams projects out as the #3 receiver this season, but moving up quickly.

David Pittman (3)

The thought is that Pittman was a reach in the third round because he hasn’t done well when matched against better competition than he was getting as a member of Northwestern State (LA).  The numbers he put up in college are very impressive.  He played in 43 games (40 starts), and made 153 tackles, broke up 32 passes, and intercepted 11 passes and returned them 298 yards.

His size and speed are a little suspect as he stands only 5-10 and runs a 4.55 40.

Chris Chester (2)

Chester was not a good pick this high for the Ravens.  Chester was a back-up tight-end until his senior season at Oklahoma when he started eight games.  Chester has the speed to pull and trap, but he will get pushed around until he adds bulk and experience.

Haloti Ngata (1)

Ngata is just what the doctor ordered for the Ravens defense.  Ray “the Killa” Lewis hasn’t been himself the last couple of seasons because offensive linemen were getting to him…..that is about to stop.  Ngata is a huge man at 6-5, 340 pounds and he is as strong as you would think as he can routinely bench 500 pounds.  At Oregon he played in 36 games (31 starts) and made 151 tackles which is pretty huge for a nose tackle.  Ngata stopped 24.5 players behind the line of scrimmage and had 9.5 sacks.  Ngata will demand a double-team up front and allow Lewis and the other linebackers to roam free and wreak havoc.  A fine selection by the Ravens.

Six years and $40 million dollars for the best safety in all of football….bar none.  A good deal for the ugly birds.
