Brian Rimpf didn’t play last season and has only played in 16 games in his first three seasons with the Ravens (7 starts).  The 6′5″, 319 pound Rimpf could get some playing time this season as the Ravens are making some changes along their offensive line.

The Ravens have re-signed guard Ikechuku Ndukwe.  The 6′4″, 338 pound lineman might get a chance to start for the Ravens who are looking to reload along the offensive line.  He played in only 5 games last season for the Ravens and he didn’t start any of them.  He will need to improve his game some to earn a starting job.

The Ravens trade for Willis McGahee

The Ravens moved quick to replace Jamal Lewis at running back.  The Ravens traded a 3rd and 7th round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2008 Draft for McGahee.  McGahee played in 14 games (all starts) last season for the Buffalo Bills and he carried the ball 259 times for 990 yards (3.8 ypc) with 6 TD runs.  He also caught 18 passes for 156 yards (8.7 avg).  It doesn’t appear that McGahee is an upgrade on Jamal Lewis, but, he came pretty cheaply from the Bills.  Look for him to rush for over 1,000 yards in 2007 for the Ravens.

The Ravens release guard Edwin Mulitalo

The Ravens have released Edwin Mulitalo after he only played 4 games last season for them due to injury.  Mulitalo played in 106 games and started 102 of them in his 8 seasons in Baltimore.  The Ravens will likely miss the 6′3″, 350 pound bulldozer.

The Ravens re-sign RB Musa Smith

The Ravens have re-signed big Musa Smith.  He had his best year in the NFL last season as he played in 12 games and carried the football 36 times for 153 yards (4.3 ypc) and he caught 22 passes for 135 yards (6.1 avg).  He should help the Ravens if he can stay healthy this season.  He also might get the ball more this season with Jamal Lewis out of the picture.
