The Baltimore Ravens re-sign RB Cory Ross

The Ravens have re-signed RB/KR Cory Ross to a 1-year contract.  The 5′6″, 201 pound reserve running back was likely signed as insurance for the injury last season to kick-returner B.J. Sams.  Ross played in 4 games last season and he returned 9 kickoffs for 194 yards (21.6 avg) and he returned 13 punts for 37 yards (2.8 avg).

The Baltimore Ravens re-sign DT Kelly Gregg

The Ravens have re-signed DT Kelly Gregg to a 4 year, $20.3 million dollar contract.  He played in all 16 games last season and he made 61 tackles, had 3.5 sacks, defensed 2 passes, forced a fumble and recovered 3 fumbles.  Gregg had an outstanding season for the Ravens and he was rewarded like he should have been.  Credit Gregg and rookie Haloti Ngata will the great play of the linebackers for the Ravens as they kept the offensive line away from the backers.

The Baltimore Ravens re-sign WR Clarence Moore

The Ravens have re-signed WR Clarence Moore to a 1-year contract.  He played in 10 games last season and he only caught 2 passes for 1 yard (0.5 avg) with a TD.  Moore’s main asset is his size (6′6″, 220) when the Ravens are close to the end zone as they like to throw him jump balls.  In his 3 seasons in the NFL, Moore has played in 29 games (8 starts) and he has caught 29 passes for 353 yards (12.2 avg) with 5 TD receptions.

The Baltimore Ravens are on the clock……………

I have conducted a complete 7 round draft for every team in the NFL.  If you want to see what I have projected for any other team in the NFL, click on the team name in the right hand margin and go to the team’s Draft Report page if you don’t see the article on the front page of the site.  This was a lot of work so I hope you enjoy it.

The Ravens always select the best player available when their choice comes up and don’t look for them to change anything this time around.  Here’s who I think the Ravens might select:

1. (29)  Joe Staley, OT, Central Michigan

2. (61)  Tanard Jackson, CB, Syracuse

4. (134)  Kevin Payne, S, UL-Monroe

4. (137)  Travarous Bain, CB, Hampton

5. (166)  Tyler Palko, QB, Pittsburgh

5. (174)  Yamon Figurs, WR/KR, Kansas State

6. (203)  Kelvin Smith, ILB, Syracuse

6. (207)  Kolby Smith, RB, Louisville

This would be a good haul for the Ravens if they can pull it off.  I rarely doubt their moves on Draft Day because Ozzie Newsome and Brian Billick are pretty astute judges of talent.
