23-year old Ray Rice had a huge breakout season for the Ravens in 2009. He played in 16 games (15 starts) for the Ravens last season and he carried the ball 254 times for 1,339 yards (5.3 ypc) with 7 TD runs. Rice also caught 78 passes for 702 yards (9.0 avg) with 1 TD grab last season. Rice is one of the best all around RBs in the NFL as he is a threat to break a big play any time his hands touch the football. Rice has played in 29 games (19 starts) in his two years with the Ravens and he has carried the ball 361 times for 1,793 yards (5.0 ypc) with 7 TD runs. He has also caught 111 passes for 975 yards (8.8 avg) with 1 TD grab in his two years with the Ravens. Look for him to have another heavy workload in 2010 for the Ravens.
Rumors were flying all over the place in the spring that the Ravens were going to trade 28-year old Willis McGahee. He also caught 15 passes for 85 yards (5.7 avg) with 2 TD grabs last year. McGahee will be able to give Ray Rice a break once in a while and he could take over as the feature back if he gets injured. McGahee has now played in 90 games (64 starts) in his 6 years in the NFL in which he has carried the ball 1,441 times for 5,787 yards (4.0 ypc) with 50 TD runs.
