The Baltimore Ravens sign Shayne Graham

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Thursday 22 December 2011 at 3:08 pm

The Ravens have signed 34-year old kicker Shayne Graham.  Graham played in 1 game earlier this year for the Dolphins.  He connected on 4 of 5 field goals and all six of his extra points for the Dolphins as he racked up 18 points in that game!  Graham has now played in 138 games in his first 11 years in the NFL and he has connected on 212 of 247 field goals (85.8%).  He has also made 321 of 326 extra points as he has scored 957 points in his NFL career.  Graham will likely handle all of the kicking chores for the Ravens this weekend against the Browns as Billy Cundiff’s calf is still hurting him.

UPDATE:  (1/3/2011) – The Ravens have waived Shayne Graham.  Graham kicked in one game for the Ravens this year and he made both of his field goal attempts and both of his extra points.  He scored 8 points against the Bengals last Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens re-sign LB Edgar Jones

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed 26-year old LB Edgar Jones.  Jones played in 5 games for the Ravens last year and he had 2 tackles and 2 forced fumbles.  Jones has now played in 32 games in his first four years with the Ravens and he has 19 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks.  He will assume Prescott Burgess’ spot on special teams, while giving the Ravens depth at LB.

The Baltimore Ravens have re-signed LB Prescott Burgess

The Ravens have re-signed 27-year old linebacker Prescott Burgess.  Burgess played in all 16 games for the Ravens last year and he had 14 tackles.  He has played in 37 games in his first three years with the Ravens and he has 35 tackles.  The Ravens will use him mostly on special teams, but Burgess will also add to the depth at linebacker.

The Baltimore Ravens sign CB Bryan McCann

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Tuesday 4 October 2011 at 11:10 pm

The Ravens have signed 24-year old cornerback Bryan McCann to a 2-year contract.  McCann played in 2 games for the Cowboys this year and he didn’t have any tackles while defensing 1 pass.  He also returned 2 punts for 13 yards (6.5 avg) and 1 kickoff for 26 yards so far this year for the Cowboys.  McCann has now played in 11 games in his first 2 years in the NFL and he has 15 tackles, 1 interception (101 yard TD return), 2 passes defensed and 1 tackle for a loss.  McCann has also returned 10 punts for 178 yards (17.8 avg) with 1 TD return and he has also returned 24 kickoffs for 533 yards (22.2 avg) so far in his NFL career.  The Ravens probably signed him more to return kicks and/or punts.  But, he should also help them with depth at cornerback.  I like this pickup for the Ravens.

UPDATE:  (11/6/2011) – The Ravens have waived Bryan McCann.  McCann played in 3 games for the Ravens and he had 1 tackle.  He also returned 2 kickoffs for 53 yards (26.5 avg) for the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens sign OT Bryant McKinnie

The Ravens have signed 31-year old OT Bryant McKinnie.  The Ravens are planning to move Michael Oher back to the right side with McKinnie covering Joe Flacco’s blind side.  McKinnie played in 16 games (all starts) for the Vikings last year.  He has now played in 132 games (131 starts) in his first 9 years in the NFL.  This was a great signing for the Ravens who were very lucky to find a offensive tackle the quality of Bryant McKinnie this late in the free agency market.

The Baltimore Ravens sign OT Mark LeVoir

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 22 August 2011 at 3:29 pm

The Baltimore Ravens have signed 29-year old OT Mark LeVoir.  He played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Patriots last year.  He has now played in 32 games (2 starts) in his first five years in the NFL.  The 6’7″, 310 pound LeVoir will challenge Oniel Collins and Jah Reid for the starting job at RT in 2011.  This was a good signing for the Ravens as RT has the look of a problem spot on the O-Line.

The Baltimore Ravens sign TE Kris Wilson

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 8 August 2011 at 7:47 pm

The Ravens sign 29-year old TE Kris Wilson.  Wilson played in 14 games (7 starts) for the Chargers last year and he caught 6 passes for 73 yards (12.2 avg).  He has now played in 82 games (30 starts) in his first 7 years in the NFL and he has caught 52 passes for 446 yards (8.6 avg) with 5 TD grabs.  Wilson has always been a decent TE, so he should be able to help out the Ravens in 2011.

The Baltimore Ravens sign TE Jonathan Stupar

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 8 August 2011 at 7:42 pm

The Ravens have signed 27-year old TE Jonathan Stupar.  Stupar played in all 16 games for the Bills (3 starts) last year and he caught 12 passes for 111 yards (9.3 avg).  He has now played in 30 games (5 starts) in his first two years in the NFL and he has caught 18 passes for 151 yards (8.4 avg) without a TD grab.  Stupar’s game is blocking so he might be able to aid the Ravens’ running game in 2011.

The Baltimore Ravens sign RB Ricky Williams

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Monday 8 August 2011 at 7:37 pm

The Ravens have signed 34-year old RB Ricky Williams to a 2-year deal.  Williams played in 16 games (0 starts) for the Dolphins last year and he carried the ball 159 times for 673 yards (4.2 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 19 passes for 141 yards (7.4 avg) with 1 TD grab last year.  Williams will take over Willis McGehee’s role of last year as he will get the tough yards for the Ravens in 2011.  Williams has now played in 131 games (84 starts) in his first 10 years in the NFL and he has carried the ball 2,323 times for 9,565 yards (4.1 ypc) with 64 TD runs.  He has also caught 329 passes for 2,523 yards (7.7 avg) with 8 TD grabs so far in his NFL career.  This was a very solid signing for the Ravens as Williams will be able to help keep Ray Rice fresh in 2011.

The Baltimore Ravens sign strong safety Bernard Pollard

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,General by admin on Thursday 4 August 2011 at 2:00 pm

The Baltimore Ravens have signed 26-year old strong safety Bernard Pollard to a 2-year deal.  Pollard played in 15 games for the Texans last year and he had 111 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2.5 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and 5 passes defensed.  He has now played in 76 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has 412 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 5 sacks, 7 fumble recoveries, 10 forced fumbles, 21 passes defensed and 7 interceptions (1 returned for a TD).  Pollard’s game is lighting up ballcarriers and receivers.  With Ed Reed behind him, Pollard will be free to bring the pain in 2011.  This is a perfect fit for the Ravens as Pollard is a nasty player.
