The Ravens have lost tight end Quinn Sypniewski for the 2008 season due to a torn ACL.  Sypniewski played in 15 games for the Ravens last season and he caught 34 passes for 246 yards (7.2 avg) with 1 TD grab.  He has now played in 31 games in his two year career and he has caught 36 passes for 261 yards (7.2 avg) with 1 TD grab.  The Ravens might draft a TE to back up Todd Heap in this weekend’s NFL Draft.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Steve McNair for the season

The Ravens have lost Steve McNair for the season after he underwent successful rotator cuff surgery.  This explains some of McNair’s poor play of this season.  He played in 6 games this season and he was 133 of 205 (64.9%) for 1,113 yards with 2 TD passes and 4 interceptions.  He also carried the football 10 times for 32 yards (3.2 ypc).  McNair also lost 7 fumbles this season which is way too many.  McNair is likely done in Baltimore but is his NFL career over?  Only time will tell.

The Baltimore Ravens lose CB Chris McAllister for a while

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here, Injury Reports, General by dawgpounded on Wednesday 17 October 2007 at 9:40 pm

The Ravens will be without starting cornerback Chris McAllister for the next three to four weeks with a strained right knee.  McAllister has not played up to his ability as he’s been repeatedly torched so far this season.  He only has 14 tackles and 1 interception so far this season.  Corey Ivey will start in McAllister’s spot.  He is having a good season as he has made 16 tackles, has 2 sacks, recovered a fumble and picked off a pass.

The Baltimore Ravens will be without CB Samari Rolle this week against the Browns

Starting cornerback Samari Rolle will miss this week’s game with the Cleveland Browns after he had a bad reaction to medicine to cure an unspecified illness.  Rolle has made 10 tackles this season for the Ravens.  Rolle will be replaced in the secondary by Corey Ivy who has been a playmaker so far this season.  Ivy has made 11 tackles, has 2 sacks and recovered a fumble already this season for the Ravens.  Look for him to make some big plays against the Browns this weekend.

The Baltimore Ravens lose De Trevor Pryce to a broken wrist

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here, Injury Reports, General by dawgpounded on Tuesday 18 September 2007 at 5:40 pm

The Baltimore Ravens have lost Pro-Bowl DE Trevor Pryce to a broken wrist that required surgery on Sunday Night.  He will miss at least the next three weeks.  Pryce was off to another good start this season for the Ravens with 6 tackles and a sack so he will be missed big-time by the defense.  Dwan Edwards who has 4 tackles on the season will replace Pryce in the starting lineup.  This is a huge dropoff as Edwards has not been that much of a contributor to the defense in his career as he has mostly been a special teams player until now.
