The Baltimore Ravens lose Paul Kruger

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 5 October 2010 at 12:16 pm

The Ravens will be without backup DE Paul Kruger for the next 2-4 weeks due to damage in his left MCL.  He has played in 1 game for the Ravens this year and he doesn’t have any tackles but he has defensed 1 pass.  Kruger played in 9 games as a rookie last season for the Ravens and he had 11 tackles, 3 passes defensed and 1 interception.  This will hurt the Ravens’ depth on the D-Line but they should be o.k. while Kruger is out of action.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Tavares Gooden for a while

The Ravens will be without backup linebacker Tavares Gooden for the next 4-6 weeks due to a dislocated shoulder.  Gooden has played in 2 games for the Ravens so far this year and he has 4 tackles.  In his first two years with the Ravens (2008+2009), Gooden played in 14 games in which he had 51 tackles and 1 pass defensed.  The Ravens will miss Gooden as he is a solid inside linebacker.

The Baltimore Ravens place a couple on O-Linemen on I.R.

The Ravens have placed 28-year old OT Stefan Rodgers (high ankle sprain) and 23-year old rookie OT Ramon Harewood (knee) on the Injured Reserve List ending their seasons.  Rodgers played in 3 pre-season games for the Ravens and he started 1 of them.  He is yet to play in a regular season game in the NFL.  Ramon Harewood played in 4 pre-season games (1 start) for the Ravens.  The 6th round pick out of Morehouse (Ga.) will essentially had a redshirt season for the Ravens in 2010.

The Baltimore Ravens place Ed Reed on the reserve/PUP list

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Sunday 5 September 2010 at 11:14 am

The Ravens have placed 31-year old free safety Ed Reed on the reserve/PUP list which means he will be out at least the first six weeks of the year.  Reed played in 12 games (all starts) for the Ravens last season and he had 50 tackles, 5  passes defensed, 3 interceptions (111 return yards) with one TD return and he forced 3 fumbles.  25-year old Tom Zbikowski will replace Reed in the starting lineup until he’s ready to return to action.  Zbikowski played in 15 games (4 starts) for the Ravens last year and he had 29 tackles, 4 passes defensed and 2 interceptions.  The Ravens will miss Reed’s big play ability while he is out of action.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Terrence Cody for a couple of weeks

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 1 September 2010 at 4:19 pm

The Ravens will be without DT Terrence Cody for the next two weeks due to a torn meniscus in his left knee which required surgery.  Cody played in 3 pre-season games for the Ravens and he had 7 tackles.  Cody is a monster at 6’4″, 349 pounds and I have come away impressed with him in what little I have seen.  Just what the Ravens need….another D-Lineman that will require a double team to let Ray Lewis run wild.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Donte’ Stallworth

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 1 September 2010 at 3:01 pm

The Ravens have lost 29-year old WR Donte’ Stallworth indefinitely as he will require surgery on a broken left foot.  Stallworth caught 4 passes for 73 yards (18.3 avg) and he also carried the ball 2 times for 7 yards (3.5 ypc) this pre-season.  The Ravens now feel great about not dealing Mark Clayton who will be the #3 WR for the Ravens when the season starts.

The Baltimore Ravens lose CB Domonique Foxworth for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 30 July 2010 at 6:40 pm

The Ravens have lost 27-year old cornerback Domonique Foxworth for the season due to a torn ACL.  He injured himself during a non-contact drill in practice.  This is a huge blow to the Ravens who were depending on Foxworth in 2010.  Foxworth played in 16 games for the Ravens last season and he had 53 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, he defensed 16 passes, intercepted 4 passes and he had 1 fumble recovery.

Sergio Kindle of the Baltimore Ravens suffers a serious injury

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports,The Draft Report by admin on Tuesday 27 July 2010 at 8:24 am

Ravens’ 2nd round pick OLB Sergio Kindle has fractured his skull after falling down two flights of stairs.  He will not be able to fly from Austin, Texas to Baltimore for at least the next three weeks.  Kindle will miss all of training camp and he probably will miss the start of the 2010 regular season for the Baltimore Ravens.  This is a huge blow to Kindle’s career but the Ravens will be able to recover because they weren’t depending on him to produce much in his rookie year.  Hopefully he will have a speedy recovery.

The Baltimore Ravens sign CB Walt Harris

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 28 June 2010 at 9:05 pm

The Ravens have signed 35-year old CB Walt Harris to a 1-year deal.  Harris has not played in the NFL since the 2008 season with the 49ers.  Harris has played in 193 games in his NFL career and he has made 748 tackles, he defensed 166 passes, has 3 sacks, forced 18 fumbles and he has 35 interceptions (4 returned for TDs).  This was a good depth signing for the Ravens as Harris has been a pretty good cornerback in the past.

UPDATE:  (8/6/2010) – The Ravens have placed Walt Harris on Injured Reserve with an Achilles problem.

UPDATE II:  (8/13/2010) – The Ravens have reached a injury settlement with Harris making him a free agent.

Ed Reed is likely to sit out Sunday’s game for the Baltimore Ravens

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 1 January 2010 at 8:47 am

Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed is likely to miss this weekend’s game with the Raiders due to a hip injury.  He has played in 11 games this season and he has made 45 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, forced 3 fumbles, defensed 5 passes and he has 3 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  Tom Zbikowski will likely start in his place.  He has played in 14 games this season for the Ravens and he has made 28 tackles, defensed 4 passes and he has 2 interceptions.  Look for him to do a decent job filling in for Reed this Sunday.
