Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed is likely to miss this weekend’s game with the Raiders due to a hip injury.  He has played in 11 games this season and he has made 45 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, forced 3 fumbles, defensed 5 passes and he has 3 interceptions (one returned for a TD).  Tom Zbikowski will likely start in his place.  He has played in 14 games this season for the Ravens and he has made 28 tackles, defensed 4 passes and he has 2 interceptions.  Look for him to do a decent job filling in for Reed this Sunday.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Lardarius Webb for the year

The Ravens will be without rookie corner Lardarius Webb for the rest of the year due to a torn ACL.  Webb played in 14 games for the Ravens this season and he made 35 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, defensed 6 passes and he had 1 sack.  Webb also was the kickoff returner for the Ravens as of late.  He returned 35 kickoffs for 918 yards (26.2 avg) with a TD return this season.  Webb looks like he was another outstanding pick by Ravens’ GM Ozzie Newsome who selected him in the 3rd round last April out of tiny Nicholls State.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Matt Lawrence for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Friday 27 November 2009 at 1:24 pm

The Ravens have lost back up RB Matt Lawrence for the season due to a severe knee injury.  The 24-year old Lawrence played in 8 games for the Ravens this season and he carried the ball 4 times for 0 yards (0.0 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 4 yards.  Where the Ravens will likely miss Lawrence is on special teams as he had 8 tackles this year.  The Ravens have signed 25-year old fullback Charles Ali to replace Lawrence.  Ali played in 15 games for the Browns last season and he caught 4 passes for 13 yards (3.3 ypc).  Ali also made 2 tackles last season.

The Baltimore Ravens lose CB Fabian Washington for the year

The Ravens have lost starting CB Fabian Washington for the season due to a torn ACL.  He played in 10 games for the Ravens this season and he had 36 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss and he defensed 6 passes.  The Ravens will start rookie CB Lardarius Webb in Washington’s place and the defense shouldn’t miss a beat.  Webb has played in 10 games for the Ravens so far this season and he has 17 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 sack and 1 pass defensed.  He has also really excelled on kickoff returns as he has 21 of them for 589 yards (28.0 avg) with 1 TD return.

The Baltimore Ravens lose a couple of players in game against the Browns

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Tuesday 17 November 2009 at 4:27 pm

The Browns might have lost the game last night but they might have won the war as OLB Terrell Suggs and safety Haruki Nakamura were both seriously injured.  Terrell Suggs is out indefinitely and there are whispers that he could miss the rest of the year due to a sprained knee.  The injury occurred when Brady Quinn hit him low on a interception return by the Ravens.  Suggs has played in 9 games for the Ravens this season and he has made 42 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 3.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and he has defensed 4 passes.  He will be very hard for the Ravens to replace.  The Ravens will no doubt be coming after Brady Quinn the next time he plays against them.  Nakamura will miss the rest of the year after he broke his right ankle on the opening kickoff of the game.  He played in 9 games for the Ravens this season and he made 4 tackles and forced 1 fumble.  Nakamura was just playing special teams so the Ravens should be able to replace him.

The Baltimore Ravens lose Brandon Ayanbadejo for the season

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Monday 5 October 2009 at 8:20 pm

The Ravens will be without 33-year old linebacker Brandon Ayanbadejo for the year due to a torn left quadriceps muscle.  This is a shame for Ayanbadejo who was primarily a special teams player in the NFL until this season when the Ravens started giving him a lot of P.T. on the defense.  He played in 4 games for the Ravens this season and he made 22 tackles, defensed 1 pass, had 1 sack and he had 1 interception.

The Baltimore Ravens place Samari Rolle on the PUP list

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 2 September 2009 at 8:49 am

The Ravens have placed 33-year old CB Samari Rolle on the Physically Unable to Perform list due to a neck injury that will keep him out at least the first six games of the season.  Rolle played in 10 games for the Ravens last season and he made 23 tackles, defensed 8 passes, forced 1 fumble and he had 3 interceptions.  Rolle is still a playmaker so this injury will hurt the Ravens’ defensive backfield.

Will Mark Clayton be ready for the season to open for the Baltimore Ravens?

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 12 August 2009 at 9:12 pm

27-year old WR Mark Clayton will miss the next 4-6 weeks with a torn hamstring.  It’s up in the air as to whether he will return in time for the season opener.  Clayton played in all 16 games for the Ravens last season and he caught 41 passes for 695 yards (17.0 avg) with 3 TD grabs.  He has now played in 62 games in his 4-year NFL career and he has caught 200 passes for 2,636 yards (13.2 avg) with 10 TD grabs.  The Ravens need to not only get him healthy but also to spur him to step up.  At least Derrick Mason reconsidered his retirement or this injury whould have been much worse for the Ravens.

The Baltimore Ravens lose OT Adam Terry for the year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Wednesday 12 August 2009 at 9:08 pm

The Ravens have placed OT Adam Terry on the Injured Reserve List due to a couple of knee surgeries.  Terry played in 12 games (7 starts) for the Ravens last season.  He has played in 48 games (18 starts) in his four years with the Ravens.  They will definately miss his size as Terry stands at 6’8″, 335 pounds.

The Baltimore Ravens sign WR Terrance Copper

Blogged under Bloglockers,Extra, Extra, Ravens News Here,Free Agent Additions,Front Page,Injury Reports by admin on Sunday 9 November 2008 at 1:36 pm

The Ravens have signed 26-year old WR Terrance Copper.  Copper played in 5 games for the Saints this season and he didn’t catch any passes.  Copper has now played in 61 games in his NFL career and he has caught 46 passes for 600 yards (13.0 avg) with 6 TD grabs.  Copper was signed to replace WR Demetrius Williams who will miss the remainder of the season with a Achilles injury.  He played in 7 games for the Ravens this season and he caught 13 passes for 180 yards (13.8 avg) with 1 TD grab.  Copper should help out the Ravens on special teams and multiple receiver sets on offense but he’s not as good of a player as Williams is.
